Q1: Can a manufacturer decide the classification (Class A or Class B) of ITE at its own discretion? Is there any possibility that VCCI directs to change the classification when report of conformity verification is submitted?

Q2: We have developed a general purpose optional board to enable attachment of peripheral devices for equipment already filed to VCCI as Class B ITE (with VCCI mark on the plate). The optional board is intended to be used in non-home environment only. The result of measurement of the ITE with the optional board mounted conforms only to the Class A limits. So we intend to file the board as Class A device. Suppose our customer having been using a base ITE wants us to install the optional board in the product, how can I treat the case in terms of VCCI registration?

Q3: Article 5 of Rules Voluntary Control Measure says “Class B ITE is intended primarily for use in a domestic environment and may include: (1) Equipment with no fixed place of use; for example, portable equipment powered by built-in batteries, etc.” Suppose I have a battery operated portable equipment designed for use within the premise of museums, art galleries and the like. Which of Category A and B is this product classified?
